Synopsis

Albert Heijn exists 125 years. The supermarket chain is an unmistakable part of Dutch cultural heritage. AH is for many a synonym for the supermarket in the Netherlands. And let's be honest: AH has actually contributed to the changes in our way of buying, our diet, our taste. This diptych sheds light on the history of AH, and thus actually a piece of the history of the Netherlands. Albert Heijn anticipated the changing society with its range. We used to only eat potatoes, vegetables and meat, nowadays the choice is enormous.
